The history of RefresherBoxx...

2017

Stephan and Gernot got to know each other in August 2017 at a founders' table. Together with Marko and Said,

they founded the GmbH in spring 2018.

2018

In 2018, we had the opportunity to participate with our RefresherBoxx in Falling Walls Lab in Berlin, an international science competition.

2019

In 2019, the RefresherBoxx was invited to East Africa, Japan, and China.

In the second half of the year, we successfully completed a proof of concept during a 6-month Techfounders program with Miele, demonstrating that our RefresherBoxx eliminates both odors and microorganisms.

2020

And then the COVID-19 pandemic came... We continued to expand our concept and within 3 weeks developed the healthcare version,

capable of processing breathing masks and single-use personal protective equipment,

enabling their safe reuse.

In the summer of 2020, our healthcare version earned a place on the podium in the

'Protective Equipment' category

at the European Hackathon EuVsVirus.

About a month later, our RefresherBoxx secured the fourth place in the final of the

world's largest start-up competition, the RICE Business Plan Competition in Houston,

making us the only foreign start-up to achieve this.

While participating in xdeck's From-Founder-For-Founders Accelerator program, we gained valuable insights into business development. Additionally, our success continued as we impressed the judges at the European Space Agency competition (INNOspace Masters, category: ESA BIC)
